He marched from Ahmedabad to Dandi with some of his followers to protest against the imposition of a tax on salt. Thousands of people participated. Kilad Eco Campsite near Navsari

Kilad Eco Campsite is in the south east part of the park along the Ambika River. It is located at the Dang Forest Division on the way to the Waghai Botanical Garden. It offers visitors a unique and exciting opportunity to stay in the forest.  In the morning you can hire a guide by paying him Rs. 50 to take you through the forest and tell you the names of trees and their uses, show you leopard tracks, how to recognize birds by their song, and other such secrets.  Entry to the center is free. Visitors must get permission a few days in advance from the Range Forest Officer on 0230 – 230057. It is located 70 kilometers from Navsari.

Somnath Mahadev Temple near Navsari

Located 22 kilometers from Navsari is the largest Mahadev Temple of South Gujarat which is the Somnath Mahadev Temple. It is one of the ‘Swyambhu Lingas’ of Lord Shiva. The peak of the temple that is the 108 feets can be seen from the Arabian Sea. It organizes a month log Shravan Mela in the temple complex which draws footfalls close to 30 lakh annually. The temple complex also has a guest house for the visitors to be accommodated.
